Graphic Laboratory

The Graphic Laboratory is a weekly workshop focused on drawing and illustration, from a creative and self-exploration perspective. Every Thursday, from October to June at Espazo Vaina, we hold the Graphic Laboratory, and I am the guide on this adventure ☺

During these months, we will learn some technical aspects and carry out small artistic projects (such as an illustrated book or a comic, a diorama, a character modelled in clay… even a final exhibition). These projects are a way of putting into practice the creative techniques and concepts we have practised. The idea is to offer a balanced dose of technique and creative freedom, so that each participant can take the proposals to their own field, thus discovering their own style and developing their personal way of communicating through drawing and its variants, which, believe me, are many. The main intention of this Laboratory is to provide creative and self-exploration tools that can later be applied as a game or as a possible hobby that will last into the future (who knows what can happen when you come into contact with art!).

I have been professionally involved in artistic endeavours since 2013, and long before it became my livelihood, I was already doing it for pure pleasure and curiosity. That’s why I know how valuable and delicate it is to be (or have close to you) a creative person, and how important it is to keep that curiosity alive.

No experience is necessary to participate in the Graphic Laboratory, just a desire to explore your personal style, learn various techniques, and not be afraid to experiment. There are two age groups,* but the focus and content of the course are very similar, always taking into account the interests of the individual.

*The Adults group is aimed at teenagers and adults, and will have a slightly higher technical and theoretical content.
