A Brétema is an illustrated album that addresses the issue of rural abandonment from a fantastical perspective. Taking the disappearance of a cow as its starting point, the story takes the protagonist on an adventure through the forest, in which three legends from Galician folklore unfold, featuring mythical characters and stories on the verge of being forgotten.

The thread that connects and separates the real world and the fantastical world is the mist or light fog, brétema in Galician, referring to memory and emphasising the value of stories and legends in transmitting cultural heritage and ensuring its survival in the collective memory.
